Day 7: Rinnō-ji

My last destination in Sendai was the Rinnō-ji. This temple was built in a different location in 1441. When the Data clan took over Sendai, the temple moved with them.

The Rinnō-ji itself is rather unspectacular, although the path there is quite nice and I even met a kitten. The highlight, however, is the beautiful Japanese garden, with a carp pond, a pagoda and a rock garden. Everything seemed to be waiting for spring. But the great thing about Japanese gardens: they are interesting in every season! The entrance fee is also absolutely reasonable at 300 ¥.

I was the only person there and enjoyed the peace and quiet before taking the bus to the train station. A pleasant conclusion to my first further excursion.
