On the last day of my stay in the Kansai region, I visited Kyōto, Japan’s old imperial city. After I had recovered from the exertions of the previous evening and had a good night’s sleep, I went to breakfast. There I met the couple from Germany again. I gave them my impressions of the aquarium and they gave me some tips for a possible vacation in Africa. Then I set off.
Fushimi Inari-Taisha
First, it was time for some exercise – I drove to the famous Fushimi Inari-Taisha and followed an endless tunnel of small orange gates to the top of the small mountain:

The Fushimi Inari-Taisha is one of the most famous and oldest Shinto shrines in Kyoto and one of the most important sights in the city. After the very spiritual but also very wet experience on Mount Inari, I was now in the mood for some fun.
